2012 Mead Summer Camp Early Registration Begins

REGISTRATION BEGINS February 18, 2012 FOR THIS SUMMER'S ELEMENTARY - MIDDLE SCHOOL - HIGH SCHOOL CAMPS!  

Early registration for MBG members and prior campers begins February 4..

Outdoor adventures and experiences are the labs for school sciences as well as life. Mix and match the themes and ages appropriate for your kids.  They'll love it for the fun and you'll love it for the learning.

The Great Duck Derby

"The Great Duck Derby" features a series of rubber duck races and FREE family activities on Saturday, February 18, 2012, from 10 am to 2 pm. The Peabody Ducks begin the festivities with a march to the Amphitheater at 10:00 am.

Admission and activities are free and ducks are bought for the races. Sponsors buy big ducks for the 11:30 am race and anyone can buy a $5 rubber duck for the 12:30 pm or 1:15 pm race. Ducks will be available at the Farmer’s Market on Saturdays before or the day of the Derby.

The yellow rubber ducks will race in the Garden's waterway. Proceeds benefit the Mead Botanical Garden Nature Program.

Community Gardeners' Workshop:

The Mead Community Gardeners will host a series of workshops on topics such as growing herbs in Florida, Secrets of Soil, etc. Led by experts such as Summer Singletary with Florida School of Holistic Living, Randal Knight or Ann Clement from The Horticulture Group and others.  Open to anyone willing to donate to Second Harvest.
