"The Great Duck Derby" is a day of FREE family activities featuring the famous rubber duck races!
The Duck Derby is a wonderful opportunity to discover or rediscover Winter Park's hidden treasure! Enjoy the duck races and a host of fun family activities! See and experience what makes Mead one of the most beloved spots in Winter Park for kids and families... from its running creek and wildlife critters to the beautiful camellia and butterfly gardens. The Duck Derby -- It's a great way to spend a day in the great outdoors!

(Park gates open at 9:30 a.m.; Opening Sing-along with CFCArts! and Duck Mascot Meet n Greet at 10am)
Adopt a race duck for just $5. Admission, parking and other activities are FREE thanks to our generous sponsors.
Parking in the Garden is limited. Additional parking is available at St. John's Lutheran Church at the corner of US Hwy 17-92 and Garden Ave. Shuttle service is provided by Park, Bark and Fly.
We also thank the many, many volunteers who help organize and run the event activities! Thank you all! Volunteer opportunities are still available.

For just $5, adopt a duck and enter the race. Or get a Quack Pack -- adopt 4 ducks for $20 and get a 5th duck free!
Anyone can adopt a baby rubber duck to race! Duck adoptions ($5) take place at the Garden on Derby Day and at the Winter Park Farmer’s Market on Saturday, February 15. Supplies will be available on Derby Day so you can "duck-o-rate" your duck to get ready for the race!
Proceeds benefit Mead Botanical Garden's Young Naturalist Summer Camp and education programs.

Bring your picnic blankets, take a hike along the creek, and enjoy the great outdoors. Food, drinks and sweet treats, as well as Duck Derby t-shirts and whistles will be available for purchase.

Mead Botanical Garden Inc. thanks all of our sponsors -- individuals and businesses -- for their generosity and contributions in support of this fun family day. Sponsors receive an extra large, bright yellow rubber duck to race in the 11am Sponsor Race. Sponsors show their creativity by "duck-o-rating" their entries with corporate logos and other themed decorations.
The Great Duck Derby is hosted by Mead Botanical Garden Inc. All proceeds from the Great Duck Derby support the Young Naturalist Summer Camp and other environmental education programs at Mead Garden. Mead Botanical Garden Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that works in partnership with the City of Winter Park to restore and revitalize Mead Botanical Garden.
