About the Friends of Mead Garden

The Friends of Mead Garden (FMG) formed in 2003 to revitalize the 47.5-acre biological asset known as MeadGarden; to engage more people in the enjoyment of, and education about, this wonder of nature nestled in the city.

Our purpose is to restore, develop and sustain Mead Garden as an urban oasis; a refuge for wildlife, a botanical garden emphasizing nature, sustainability and environmental learning, and a place for contemplation, celebration, and recreation.

In partneship with the City of Winter Park, the Friends of Mead Garden assess the needs of the community, develop plans with community engagement, and raise funds to achieve the vision for Mead Garden.
