Birding in the Garden

The fall months of September and October are the best time to look for migrants in Mead Botanical Garden.

The Official Bird Checklist for Mead Garden was presented to the Winter Park City Commission in April, 2010, by the team of bird watchers who produced this exceptional piece or work.

In September, 2011, the team of Dexter Richardson, Bruce Anderson and Andrew Boyle updated the list to adapt to new naming conventions and add newly sighted birds. They again donated printed copies for distribution in the garden and also provided a copy for you to download below.

For five years these dedicated birders led monthly surveys of birds in Mead Garden... photographing, counting and recording where, when and what they saw here.

Updated version of the Checklist for 2011

Copies of the updated checklist are available in the garden or you can download it from the link below. Please thank Dexter Richardson, Andrew Boyle, Bruce Anderson and the entire team of diligent birders for this comprehensive, accurate checklist.
