Donors Double the Impact of Gifts to the Garden through Matching Grant

Mead Botanical Garden receives grant to create a new website from the Winter Park Community Foundation, an affiliate of the Central Florida Foundation.

Mead Botanical Garden has been selected to receive up to $10,000 in matching grant funds from the Winter Park Community Foundation to design a new website.  Mead Garden, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, is seeking matching fund donations to assist with the project. Through the dollar-for-dollar grant, donors will double the impact of their contribution to the organization.

The grant will help further Mead Botanical Garden's mission of connecting people with nature by providing a dynamic website with a broad range of easy-to-find information about the Garden. The site will help those interested in planning a visit as well as showcase upcoming events and educational programs, plants, ecosystems and wildlife in the garden, and  provide venue rental information.

Those wishing to help Mead achieve its goal of obtaining the full $10,000 grant may do so through Mead’s current website at, or contact Cynthia Hasenau, Mead’s Executive Director, for more information.

“We are grateful to the Winter Park Community Foundation for its continued support. This grant will help us build a website that will be a comprehensive source of information.  The new site will enable us to highlight concerts, classes, camps, and of course, the beauty of the garden,” said Hasenau.

Mead is an amazing community asset and has an array of wonderful opportunities that connect people with nature. The new site also will make it easier for those wishing to sign up for volunteer activities, donate or register for programs, Hasenau said.

Mead Botanical Garden Inc. partners with the City of Winter Park to improve and program the garden.
