Geocaching is a high-tech treasure hunting game played throughout the world by adventure seekers equipped with GPS devices. Mead Garden holds a special place in geocaching history since Central Florida’s 1st geocache was placed here in 2001.
Several exciting new secret treasures have been cached in the garden, plus the original cache was relocated with an added adventure. Our sincere appreciation to Kristine and Steve DeNunzio for designing, placing and submitting this adventure, and to “Ger & Sarina” for updating their original 2001 cache. Kristine teaches all things Mac at Winter Park Tech and has offered to teach a class in geocaching here in the garden. Her caches-found count is well over 1100 — and she’s still going!
Kris DeNunzio posted the cache sites on geocaching.com, so Mead Garden is official with the worldwide geocaching organization.
