The beautiful pops of color seen at the entrance to the Community Garden are thanks to the ongoing work of Susan League, devoted garden volunteer and MBG Board Member. Susan also deserves tremendous credit for the dozens upon dozens of hours she spends planting and tending beds in the Legacy Garden, working on various horticultural projects, and maintaining the expanding collection of camellias.
Susan League is a longtime resident of Winter Park and has fond memories of the years when she brought her children to the Garden while they were growing up. She says now, what she enjoys most about MBG are the natural native landscapes in combination with a growing sense of community and evolving cultural arts.
In addition to her work at MBG, Susan is a member of the Board for Visitors at the Cornell Fine Arts Museum at Rollins College. Given her love of art and gardening, Susan is excited that students of Rollins College art professor Rachel Simmons will be at Mead this fall using the Garden as artistic inspiration in their coursework.
We want to give special thanks to Susan League for all her hours of valued volunteer work, leadership with other MBG volunteers, and contributions to the Garden. Her support, knowledge, and direction within the organization is part of the positive growth and forward momentum of MBG today.
