Backyard Biodiversity Day (BBD) was created to celebrate diversity in the landscape. We invite you to spend a day with us, teaching about native plants, pollinators, wildlife, and why they are important.
This event is organized by the Tarflower Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society, our mission is to promote the preservation, conservation, and restoration of native plants and native plant communities.
Backyard Biodiversity Day celebrates diversity in the landscape, and provides opportunities to learn about Florida’s native plants, pollinators, wildlife, and why they are important.
We are looking for like-minded vendors, exhibitors and speakers – like you – to participate in our event. Last year over 1,200 visitors attended, and we anticipate even more in 2022.
Please consider joining us:
- Exhibitors – Free for non-profit organizations
- Vendors – $25 for selling a product, service, or any other item
- Food vendors – $100 deposit returned the day of the event
All proceeds from the event go towards habitat restoration projects at Mead Botanical Gardens. We rely on generous support to fund these projects and community education. Sponsorship levels start at $50.
This free and family-friendly event includes environmentally conscious vendors, educational presentations, guided hikes, kids’ activities, food trucks, and live music all centered around a huge native plant sale.
